Colatan paper
COLATAN PAPER is a product line designed to improve the mechanical and physical properties of both recycled and virgin papers. It allows increasing the speed of the forming machine and thus reducing the consumption of chemical products, maximizing performance and energy consumption.
The COLATAN PAPER line is easily manageable and has a high degree of stability. It improves the drainage process during the formation of papers produced with wood fiber and secondary fiber, making it possible to maximize fiber retention by increasing production speed.
Unitán has developed two products for the paper industry.
Wetseal and Unipulp
WETSEAL is a product developed based on chemically modified natural polymers, specifically designed to provide an effective barrier against moisture, thus improving the durability and functionality of both paper and packaged products in high humidity conditions. This product is applied in Size press.
UNIPULP is an amphoteric polyphenolic additive for the optimization of paper manufacturing processes. It is developed based on chemically modified natural tannins to confer upon it both anionic and cationic characteristics. This causes its hydroxyls to react with cellulose fibers and flocculate at pH7. This allows for better charge management in the system, favoring the performance of other present additives and improving the mechanical properties of paper by increasing properties such as TCR, tensile strength, and Mullen strength.
